First marketing meeting with the team
ARTWALK is an annual public art festival celebrating the heritage of Little India and Katong-Joo Chiat. Its tenth edition, ARTWALK 2024: Decennial, marks a decade of stories with interactive installations, performances, workshops and returning artists revisiting their past works.
The festival is part of Singapore Art Week and is jointly organised by LASALLE College of the Arts' BA(Hons) Arts Management students and the Singapore Tourism Board. I worked together with my seniors and classmates as the ARTWALK marketing team.
Under the guidance of my seniors, I devised marketing strategies and produced copywriting for ARTWALK's Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, website, brochure and media release. Crafting these materials taught me how to communicate a festival’s identity clearly across multiple platforms and to appeal to past and potential festival-goers.

Other than online creation, I also acted as an artist liaison for our mural artists, SONG (Lee Song Xuan) and Didier 'Jaba' Mathieu, during their painting schedules.

Throughout the week of ARTWALK, I had the chance to see many of the performances and events I had previously written about or promoted come to life. Witnessing these moments unfold in real time in front of audiences made my on-site role as a venue facilitator and usher even more meaningful. It was incredibly rewarding to watch the work I had contributed behind the scenes progress into the public eye.
To wrap up the experience, I created a short video documenting my time at ARTWALK which you can watch here!

ARTWALK crew!
Thank you to my seniors, especially Joey and Jan from the marketing team, for guiding me!
One thing that will stay with me most is the sense of community between artists, organisers, and audiences. Being part of a festival that brings neighbourhood stories to life reminded me of the impact the arts can have on everyday spaces.
